Volunteer Bristol wins money to help the city's most vulnerable people

Volunteer Bristol is one of 15 organisations to benefit from a new £1.9 million grant to help recession-hit communities.

The grant will be worth £100,000 over 2 years and will enable us to set up a scheme to help the most vulnerable people in the city to give their time as volunteers.

Volunteer Bristol wins award for innovation

Volunteer Bristol’s partnership with the Bristol Learning Communities Team has won an award for the most innovative work with communities. Together we have developed and piloted a ‘Preparing to Volunteer’ training course to equip people with the basic skills for volunteering and to build their confidence. Piers Cardiff who developed the course with Learning Communities Development Worker, Suzanne Gaffney, collected the award at the ‘Me and My Neighbourhood Citizens’ Conference 2011.

Volunteer Centre opening hours

If you would like to pop in to the Volunteer Centre and browse the opportunities or speak to one of our helpful volunteers, come along on a Tuesday or a Wednesday between 11.00-15.00.

Don't forget that all of our opportunities are also available on this website.

New name, new website, new era

Welcome to the new website for the organisation formerly known as Volunteering Bristol!

The new Volunteer Bristol website has all the useful stuff from the old website only moved around a bit so that things are easy to find.  We've also given it a new lick of paint as you might have noticed.

But what happened to the 'ing'?  Well, after many years of loyal service to our charity it finally realised that there isn't any money in volunteering and it went off start a new career with one of the largest financial institutions in the world.  We wish it well.
