The Boost! Programme: providing professional support for your organisation.
What is the Boost! Programme?
The Boost! Programme matches volunteers with professional skills with voluntary and community sector organisations who are small, in crisis or work with vulnerable people. We have a database of experienced people from a variey of professional backgrounds to provide much-needed support to a range of different organisations. These professionals are either currently working full or part time, are between-jobs, or are retired.

The Boost! Programme is run by Volunteer Bristol, in partnership with The Support Hub at Voscur. Started in April 2011, this project specifically supports voluntary and community sector organisations in Bristol that are currently facing difficulties, or working with vulnerable or socially excluded groups. It is funded by Bristol City Council.
We match experienced people from a variety of professional backgrounds with organisations who are looking for short-term, capacity-building support in areas such as:
Is my organisation eligible to get help?
To be eligible for support from a Boost! volunteer your organisation needs to be a not-for-profit and must meet at least two of the following criteria (set by Bristol City Council). These include:
- with an income of less than £50,000 per year
- that are new and emerging groups meeting an identified service need
- providing services in Bristol’s most deprived neighbourhoods
- led by and/or providing services to Equalities
- interested in bidding for public service contracts
- organisations that are in crisis
