Support and training
There are several ways that we help organisations who recruit volunteers:
Volunteer Organiser's Forum
The VOF is open to members of Volunteer Bristol who have responsibility for looking after volunteers. The group, which has over 100 members, meets every other month, for a mixture of networking and workshops. Recent meetings have been hosted by Fareshare, UWE Volunteering and Lifeskills.
The next meeting will be in Wednesday 15th May 2013 from 10.00-1.00 at Bristol Samaritans. We will be looking at managing difficult behaviour and Samaritans will give a talk about how they involve volunteers. Please email jenny@volunteerbristol.org.uk if you have any questions about VOF meetings or would like to host a meeting in the future.
Membership of the Forum is included in our membership package.
Volunteer Management Training
We are currently reviewing our programme of training for volunteer managers and hope to offer more training courses in the future.
In the meantime we can develop bespoke training courses or workshops for your staff or volunteers. For further details please contact us.
Volunteer Manager's Ebulletin
We provide a regular bulletin featuring news, legal updates, training information, and good practice tips. This is free to all members.
Good Practice Resources
We have a range of resources which will help your organisation's volunteer-involvement to thrive.
One-to-one advice
At present we are able to offer a limited amount of one-to-one advice to help your volunteering to thrive.
